Reid Berrien

Reid Berrien grew up in Westport, Connecticut, and graduated from Middlebury College in 2008 where she was a four-year starter on the varsity field hockey and lacrosse teams, captaining both in her senior year. At graduation, Reid received Middlebury's top athletic award for being a two sport most outstanding athlete. After graduating with a degree in psychology, Reid was an assistant field hockey and lacrosse coach at Middlebury for two years. She recently moved to Denver, Colorado, and began working as a Membership Coordinator at a company called Inspirato. She is also an Experience Coordinator for LivingSocial Adventures. In her free time, Reid likes to be outdoors, play sports and cycle. Reid led New England Explorer in 2007, Yellowstone Teton Explorer in 2008,  European Explorer in 2009, Field Studies Tanzania in 2010 and American Challenge in 2011. Reid writes, "One of my favorite memories from the American Challenge came at dessert circle the night before the final day—the day before we were to reached the Santa Monica Pier. My co-leader and I asked the group how they thought we should enter the Pacific Ocean. Without skipping a beat, one student suggested we all hold hands/wheels and enter the water as a group. This was of course what my co-leader and I had hoped they would say, and we were so proud to see that after biking for 6-weeks to reach the ocean that they resisted the urge to all sprint in on their own and instead realized the importance of accomplishing this last amazing feat as a group."
