Safety & Accreditation
Nothing is more important to us than the safety, security and well-being of our students. These are our top concerns in everything we do; from program design and planning, to leader selection and training, to program operation and support, our students’ safety always comes first.
American Camp Association Accreditation
A key component of our commitment to safety is our accreditation by the nationally-recognized American Camp Association. To receive this endorsement, Overland rigorously maintains over 300 safety standards set forth by the ACA and regularly submits to the ACA’s evaluation of these standards and overall program quality.

Safety
For over 20 years, Overland has provided safe and rewarding summer experiences for more than 10,000 young people. Our superlative safety record is the result of our focus on:
-
Small Groups. No Overland program has more than 12 students or fewer than two leaders.
-
Careful Admissions. We check each applicant’s references thoroughly, admitting only those students whom we believe are a good fit for the experience we offer.
-
High Expectations. Our students play by the rules—no tobacco, alcohol or illegal drugs—and are considerate of others.
-
Superlative Leaders. Overland leaders are dynamic and accomplished people who keep their students safe and secure, while inspiring them to be their best in every way.
-
Carefully Crafted Programs. Every Overland program—from outdoors to service to language—offers a carefully planned and age-appropriate experience to our students.
-
Our Commitment to You. Everyone at Overland is 100% dedicated to making our students’ summers with us the best experiences of their lives.
