Admissions Overview

No other organization is more committed to putting together great groups of good students—students who are positive, enthusiastic, eager and considerate. To do this, over the course of the spring we ask the parents of every enrolled student to provide us with important information about their child: a school reference and transcript, a reference from a coach, and information from a physician on the student’s physical condition and medical history. If, as a result of this process, we have concerns about one of our enrolled students, we will contact the parents and make an appropriate decision about the student’s participation; if the offer of a spot on a trip or program is withdrawn by Overland a full refund of all payments to Overland will be made.

When To Apply

Most programs fill in January and February. Some programs fill earlier; and others may have space available until later in the spring.

When We Receive Your Application

If your first choice is available, we will confirm your spot via email. If your first choice is not available, we will call you to confirm that your second choice is acceptable. If neither your first choice or your second choice are available, we will call you to discuss options.

Enrollment Forms

When we confirm your spot we will email you the following:

1. Invoice. Full payment is due on March 1. For applications received after March 1, full payment is due on receipt of our confirmation email.

2. Releases. Due March 1.

3. School Reference Form & Request For Transcript. Due April 1.

4. Reference from a Coach or Physical Education Teacher. Due April 1.

5. Health Record & Prescription Form. Due April 1.

6. Language Teacher Reference Form (for LSA and L&S students only). Due May 1.

7. Travel Information Form. Due May 1.

Please do not purchase non-refundable airline tickets until you receive an email from us confirming that we have received and reviewed your school reference and transcript, the physical fitness reference, and the health information provided by you and your physician. WAITING LISTS

We will notify all waitlisted applicants of their status on April 1st.

OVERLAND GROUPS

We run multiple sections of most programs and take great care in putting together the best possible groups. Please see each program description for age and grade requirements.

TRAVELING WITH A FRIEND

We encourage students to come on their own. Traveling with one friend is permissible, though. We will allow no more than two friend pairs per group, and these slots will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that special requests of any kind must be made in writing at the time of submitting your application.
