Welcome to Overland 2009
25 Years
In 1984 I couldn’t have imagined the wonderful adventures that lay ahead as Overland grew from just three bicycle trips in New England to 37 programs spanning outdoor travel, service, language study abroad and a pair of writing programs that offer the kind of learning experience we wish every school could offer.
At the heart of every Overland program is a carefully crafted challenge with a clearly defined goal: bike a coast, hike a mountain, serve a community, learn a language, improve your writing. In a world where so much of what is offered is little more than entertainment, we seek to give our students engagement, focus and achievement. Overland is not simply a summer experience-- it's a life experience with value and resonance that extends far beyond the boundaries of a single summer.

From our first summer, our focus on the quality of the experience we offer has never wavered. Our directors and year-round staff have created exciting and engaging programs; our leaders have been role models of the highest caliber; and our students have shown themselves to be fun-loving, enthusiastic and adventurous.
For 25 years, we’ve seen how superb leadership, high expectations and carefully crafted programs can bring out the best in our students. All of us at Overland are dedicated to making 2009 our best summer ever…please join us!
